Ambientato nel 1957, il quarto film della serie cinematografica vede un anziano Indiana Jones fronteggiare agenti dell’Unione Sovietica guidati da Irina Spalko alla ricerca di un teschio di cristallo. “Indy” è aiutato dal suo grande amore Marion Ravenwood, dal greaser “Mutt” Williams e dal compagno di avventure Mac. John Hurt e Jim Broadbent interpretano due accademici.
